In a June 7 article regarding Helen Thomas’ retirement in the wake of her controversial public comments about Jews in Israel, CAIR Communications Director Ibrahim Hooper was quoted as saying “she’s been a target of the pro-Israeli lobby for quite some time. She obviously gave them an opportunity to marginalize her voice in the media.” He excused her conduct saying that Thomas’ emotions might have “got the best of her.”
