On April 23 CAIR-Arizona issued a press release urging people to ask Arizona Governor Jan Brewer to veto Senate Bill 1070 saying it “criminalizes immigrants and institutionalizes racial profiling.”  The release said that “the repercussions of such a law would be devastating for immigrants and all communities of color in Arizona.”  CAIR asked readers to sign an online petition and call and email the Governor’s office.
